Membership

As an ESNZ registered Area group, as of 1st April 2026 in accordance with the new ESNZ Constitution we must comply with the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 for maintaining a Membership Register.

Membership Options (NB: Membership is processed via EvoEvents)

  • Adult Rider Membership (full voting member) $25 per annum

  • Junior Rider Membership (under 18yo at time of joining, parental consent required) $15 per annum

Alternatively, if you would like to be on the Dressage Canterbury Database for newsletters, up to date information etc, register on Evo and click the “Supporter” option when you sign up.

  • Supporter (judges, volunteers, non-riders) FREE

  • Reduced Admin Fees for unlimited DCG hosted events ($5.00 discount per rider/event)

  • Membership Lapel Pin for your competition jacket to show that you’re proudly part of the DCG family

  • Eligibility for the annual Accumulator Series and associated awards

  • Regular newsletters and other updates emailed to you directly

  • Free entry to Education Events including those with Guest Speakers

  • Early notification of entries going ‘live’ on EvoEvents

  • Volunteer recognition bonuses

  • Eligibility for future DCG Squad or Scholarship opportunities

Membership Expectations

  • Represent the group positively

  • Treat others respectfully

  • Uphold high horse-welfare standards

  • Maintain a supportive attitude

  • Respond to messages promptly and participate respectfully in group communications, and communicate proactively if unavailable

  • Provide volunteer hours throughtout the season

  • Support positive community culture through attending at least one group event or ‘working bee’ outside of competitions

Grounds for removal from Membership

  • Breaching horse-welfare standards

  • Repeated negative behaviour

  • Failing to uphold Membership Expectations

  • Poor communication or conduct reflecting poorly on the group
